The concerned legal gun owners / citizens who faced the Council last January asking for a review of the City’s Concealed Carrying regulations many of who are still not happy with the Supt of Police latest proposals are encouraging members to attend tonight’s Lowell Rally for Civic Engagement at Mill #5, 250 Jackson St 7PM – 10PM with the following suggestions:
When you speak to an incumbent council member or a candidate from whom we have not heard from (see list below), ask them to send me an official statement on their position on the policy of the Police Chief. I will distribute all responses to you.
REMIND the incumbents and the candidates to remember that gun owners are voters. Talk to the candidates and incumbents who have not made their view known.
Tell them that councilmen who support the chief do so against citizens’ rights, and at the taxpayers’ expense defending the chief and his oppressive policy in a Federal lawsuit.
Tell the council members to take a stand for the rights of residents in Lowell. If they do not, tell them you will tell your friends that they should not vote for that person.
Don’t forget that the city council works for you!!
If your rights matter to you, tell them that this issue is extremely important to you — then have your say in the voting booth on November 3rd!!
You can make a difference in this election. If you look at past Lowell city council election results, these elections are won and lost by margins smaller than the number of gun owners in the city.
Make no mistake: GOAL is standing by all of you through every step of this and afterwards. No matter what happens, we are keeping a watchful eye on how the city acts according to your rights.
GN: Here is the list showing unsurprisingly, how many incumbents and candidates are scared and unwilling to take a firm position and are to their own detriment ignoring this decent sized voting group!

I did reach out to Councilor Rourke noting he was the only present City Councilor or Council Candidate listed has UNFAVORABLE TO RESIDENTS. At least he took a stand unlike most.
Councilor Rourke stated while he is in favor of the right to carry he just wants to make sure those who carry are trained in safety and are responsible owners. He wasn’t sure why that qualified has being UNFAVORABLE TO RESIDENTS.
