1st Challenger to Commit to Mayor for 2nd term……

On City Life this morning, Jordan Gys who finished 14th in the Preliminary and 491 votes out of the 9th spot, endorsed Mayor Rodney Elliott for another term as Mayor.

Gys who worked on the Baker/Polito campaign “organizing Lowell” (which included a commercial featuring the Mayor’s Campaign Manager Dave Daley)  said he thinks the current Mayor deserves another term.

Not that the current Mayor has yet announced whether he wants one or not.

Is this the first of a few challengers to try to ride the Mayor’s popularity and commit to him to try and get votes? or is this just the first shoe to drop in the upcoming battle for Mayor?

Last year Corey Belanger committed before the election and Dan Rourke committed officially a few days after the November electiion…will this move be enough to propel Gys to 9th from 14th?  Will more challengers or current Councilors follow?

I've been interested in Schools since I worked at the Greater Lowell Tech and substitute taught in Dracut. I've followed the finances and issues with the Lowell School for the past 8 years while blogging and contributing to Saturday Morning Live! Currently serving my 1st term.
