Beginning Monday, February 29th the Broadway Bridge in Lowell will be closed to all vehicle traffic as part of the bridge replacement project that is currently underway.

During this time, all vehicle traffic will be rerouted according to the below vehicle detour route provided by the City of Lowell.

Traffic travelling West bound across the bridge will be rerouted to School Street to Middlesex Avenue to Walker Street.

Traffic travelling East bound will be rerouted to Walker Street to Middlesex Avenue to School Street.

Sidewalk access across the bridge will remain open until the pedestrian access bridge is constructed, allowing for uninterrupted pedestrian access for the entire duration of construction.

The new bridge is expected to reopen to all traffic by the end of 2016.
