Greater Lowell Tech Teachers rank #61 – Lowell Public Teachers #99 in 2015 Salaries

According to todays Boston Business Journal in a story that looks at 2015 teacher Salaries, Greater Lowell Tech ranked #61 out of 319 Communities while Lowell Public School Teachers rank #99 out of 319.

Districts not included in this analysis due to incomplete data were Acton; Ayer; Boxborough; Chatham; Essex Agricultural Technical; Freetown; Gosnold; Granville; Harwich; Lakeville; North Shore; Shirley; Monomoy Regional School District; Ayer Shirley; and Somerset Berkley.

(GN – While the story states 317 the information provided broken down by city’s and towns shows 319)

The Business Journal’s analysis of payroll data was based solely on salary figures provided to the state by 317 school districts in the commonwealth, and it did not account for the attractive benefits — summers off, pensions — negotiated on behalf of local educators by affiliates of the state’s various teachers unions. The state’s average teacher salary increased roughly 11 percent between 2009 and 2015, an uptick that rivaled payroll trends for the Massachusetts economy as a whole.

The Story titled The towns and cities with the best-paid teachers in Massachusetts in 2015 shows that

I've been interested in Schools since I worked at the Greater Lowell Tech and substitute taught in Dracut. I've followed the finances and issues with the Lowell School for the past 8 years while blogging and contributing to Saturday Morning Live! Currently serving my 1st term.
