And here’s just a sampling of upcoming events.

Lots to enjoy in Lowell this weekend
Made In Lowell launches summer in the city with a Summer Kick-Off celebration, Friday-Sunday
Friday is Opening Day for the Lowell Spinners’ at Lelacheur Park
The Lowell Summer Music Series rocks and rolls on with Mary Chapin Carpenter and Peter Frampton
Lowell Walks—discovering Lowell’s special places and stories. Saturday beginning at 10 a.m. at the National Park Visitor Center on Market Street
Also on Saturday, the 16th annual African Festival Lowell will be held at the Sampas Pavilion
The Jehovah’s Witnesses Convention returns to the Tsongas Center beginning tomorrow through Sunday

Franco-American Week begins June 19
Lowell Greek Festival, June 24, 25, 26
The Congress of Future Medical Leaders (June 25-27) and the Congress of Future Scientist & Technology Leaders (June 29-July 1) at the Tsongas Center
Restaurants can expect an increase in customer traffic as these events will have meal breaks from 1-3 and 6-8 p.m. Commuters should be aware that there will be increased vehicle traffic in and out of the area during these events.

Lowell’s Independence Day Celebration—Family Fun and Fireworks, Monday, July 4 at Lelacheur Park (rain date, Tuesday, July 5)
Beginning July 6, the Lowell Summer Music Series Kids Shows, Wednesdays and Thursdays at 11 a.m. at Boardinghouse Park
Don’t miss the next Downtown Lowell First Thursdays, July 7— Arts, Music, Shopping and Dining
Friday Nights—July 8 along Cardinal O’Connell Parkway
The Lowell Folk Festival celebrates its 30th anniversary July 29-31!
